oncluding session of three-day conference of selected Pakistani envoys is underway in Islamabad.
According to details, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is chairing the session in which the recommendations put forward by the participants will be finalized.
While addressing the envoys, PM Abbasi reiterated that the solution to Afghanistan problem is not military but political.
“US President’s new Afghan policy will fail. We will not allow bringing the war into Pakistan,” he said. The premier stressed that India had to be impeded from using Afghan soil against Pakistan.
Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir are also present at the conference, discussing country’s foreign policy challenges.
The conference which begun on Tuesday discussed important foreign policy matters in aftermath of US president Donald Trump’s policy on Afghanistan and South Asia.
Envoys from various capitals deliberated over a range of bilateral, regional and global dimensions of the country’s foreign policy. Pakistan’s envoys at the United Nations, United States, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Afghanistan, Iran and India are attending the conference.
